Why Was This Project So Impressive?
Beachfront property located in one of the world’s most desirable destinations, Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah offers 477 spacious guest rooms and suites, 222 signature Viceroy residences, all with breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf. Viceroy features spectacular dining venues, a modern spa, a beach club and a one-hundred-meter-long pool, children’s clubs, entertainment and sporting activities. The project’s value lies not only in the commercial worth but also in the fact that it was one of the signature projects that many competitors were chasing.
Structural Particulars
The project involved complicated structural foundations that included waterproofing of horizontal elements and vertical secant piles. The General Contractor chose to use cement boards whereby SOPREMA had to install COLPHENE BSW V over the cement boards, which were mechanically fastened over secant piles using metal brackets and wood frames. The COLPHENE BSW V was tied in with COLPHENE BSW H loose laid over the work slab. The project also involved the treatment of 900 pile caps with ALSAN FLASHING & FLASHING REINFORCEMENT in addition to detailed treatment of deep lift pits and MEP trenches.
